Ahhhh - a Scottish Beastie ye say!
I think there is nothing quite as magnificent as a Highland beastie - but then maybe I'm just biased.
Highland cattle first came to NZ from Scotland in the early 1900's but died out due to lack of interest. They tried again in 1973 and this time the vision caught on and herd numbers have grown until the present day.
Highland cattle come in a range of colours, not just red and their magnificent horns can take many different forms
Our cows are registered with the original NZ Highland Cattle Society so their origins can be traced back to those original imported beasts.
We usually have some purebred cattle for sale of Px grade (just email us to understand the grading system).
We are trying to breed a miniature line by using selected genetics from NZHCS registered stock. We are gradually getting them smaller and smaller. The beauty of miniature cattle is they're easier to handle and you don't get them bogging down in those wet paddocks, like a big beast. And also their Oh' so cute!
